Maternity Portrait Session

Welcome to Shannon Stringfellow Photography and thank you for booking me for this special time in your life. There are a few things that you should know before we do our shoot. This document will give you all the information you should know to properly prepare before we start. If you have any questions that aren’t answered in this document then you are more than welcome to message or call me.

A good time for a Maternity Portrait shoot is after 30 weeks - best time will be 36-38 weeks to ensure your belly is round enough. Most expectant mothers prefer 30 weeks as they are still comfortable enough to move around.

The session will be about 1-2 hours depending on the location. Home sessions can be up to 2 hours or more as we have no time restrictions. Studio sessions will be strictly 1 hour as the studio has a strict policy that includes a R700 fee for overtime used.

Please note that latecomers will have the choice of either sticking to the 1 hour time allocation or paying the extra R700 for another 30 minutes. Studio work will be done at Studio Alora in Parktown North.

Preparation for a Maternity session is simple. There are a few steps that will need to be done before your photoshoot starts.

Outfits:
There are so many colours that can be worn during your shoot. Please match colours with your partner, family, friends or anyone else you would like to join for your session. I would like the outfits to be more monotone as it will look more timeless overtime.

At the moment I am working up to buying my own selection of Maternity Gowns to make your gallery POP with more glamour. In the meantime there are many places to find beautiful, show stopping gowns for your Maternity Portrait session. My favourite dress hire place is Tummy Tailored. I have linked their website here.

We can do some implied nude shots if requested beforehand. If we are shooting at the studio I will ensure that we have privacy to capture these shots and make sure you are 100% comfortable at all times.

You can add flowers to your booking for an additional R300. At the end of the session you are more than welcome to take them home or we can keep them for a Newborn session. If you would like to book a Newborn session as well then please note that we offer Maternity & Newborn Portrait sessions with a discount for booking them together.
